Hello all!

Posted in Website Stuff on November 7, 2010 by Bertone

No new posts on here since April?!?!? Can you believe! No promises from me (I’ve learned my lesson), but I will TRY to get things back to daily posts!

It’s also been a long time since there has been a podcast. I’ve so busy guesting on and producing podcasts for comic book media that “Bertone Beatle Bonanza” has gotten left behind.

It also has to do with the fact that I’m attempting to switch from Podomatic to Libsyn as a podcast server. Hopefully the transition goes well.  I do want to get the next episode out soon…it’s been sitting here waiting to be edited since July (!?!). Yup, I’ve been busy!

Currently listening to “Fab Fourum” as I’m typing this. Great podcast that everyone should hear. I’ve also been enjoying the “Band on the Run” remasters. How have you all been?

Cruise Hangover

Posted in Beatles Tribute Cruise, Personal, Website Stuff on April 12, 2010 by Bertone

One week after the fab Beatles Cruise and I just got back to my house last night!

Some of you who have been  regulars are wondering why the site hasn’t been updated, and some of you who connected with me during the cruise may be checking back for updates and finding none.  On the way back home my car broke down…for good. I had to take a bus halfway home and the rest is a long story. I had limited compute access and couldn’t give the website the attention it deserved. Here are a few things of note..

* I know some of you have been trying to get your accounts activated for the message board. There have been (since deleted) spam problems and I may be redoing or getting ride of the message board as it stands and replacing it with another discussion forum or something similar.

* The problems which occured with downloading episodes last week should be over now.

* I know I mentioned them in the post below but I want to give a shout out to All Beatles Store again. Great store and great site! Check them out!

* Be sure to check out the Beatles Tribute Cruise Facebook group page. Lots of photos being posted by everyone.

*During the Jorie Gracen “Behind The Lens” sequence on the cruise, I was asked to help give her “Get Wings In The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” campaign and this is the result.  More coming from that later but I’m pleased to have over 800 fans in less than a week.

Life is somewhat getting back to “normal”. I finally got home last night, I’m renting a car today, and I’m slowly going back to work, so check the site for news, photos, podcasts and other updates as they come!

Whoops

As you all expected, I didn’t get nearly half of the stuff done I said I would last week. I worked my real life job twice as much last week as I thought. Still, I did have daily postings and get a good enough chunk of stuff done that I don’t feel rotten. A new podcast has been recorded and will be edited and released in a matter of days.

Beatle pic of the day

Posted in Beatle pic of the day, Website Stuff on January 11, 2010 by Bertone

An early Beatles publicity photo not long after Brian put them in suits. Look how short their hair is compared to photos taken a year or two later!

I’m also using this picture as a logo for a new section of the website that is currently being developed behind the scenes. It should be ready to be unveiled before April…

It’ll be big and I’m not telling..

Back From Vacation

A great John Lennon photo by Linda.

Our first post on here in almost a month! Those who listened to the podcast know what happened, but I’ll explain for those who haven’t.

Remember this is only my side hobby and things got really in the December period leading up to the holidays and the aftermath. The website and front page had a very good run this year of having daily updates for a good part of the year (thanks largely to Steve). The podcast hasn’t always been that lucky as loyal listeners know.

The holidays may of had their stress, but they had some fun as well. Those who heard my Christmas Show can hear about all the Beatles related gifts I got. I also was able to celebrate the New Year but playing BEATLES ROCK BAND with my brothers. We did the Abbey Road Medley and it exhausted us!

Now we’re in a new year and new decade and I could end the break. I won’t vow or promise to have daily updates or constant new features on this section. If I do that it’ll only put egg in my face if I don’t come through. I can say I’ll try my hardest though. I have some new ideas for the site and I hope to see them come to fruition soon. Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Just for fun, thing I hope to have up here by next Monday..
1) A certain book review

2) A podcast episode

3) A”Beatles pic of the day” for each day.

4) 2 more Beatles cartoon episodes.

Something to shoot for!

Hey all!

I can’t take credit for that photoshop. It all goes to the good people at Sobell House. Just wanted to say the news should be updated from the past week. Some of the news stories didn’t show up on the website over the Thanksgiving holiday (my error) and that has been fixed. I hope you all enjoyed the holiday. I’ll be trying to get our podcast bandwidth issue resolved shortly.

State of the podcast

Posted in Website Stuff on November 19, 2009 by Bertone

I’ve posted this a few times on my Facebook page, but figured I’d put it here as well for those who didn’t see it.

I consider this a good news/bad news thing. We’ve gotten so popular that the podcast has broken it’s bandwidth again! Unfortunately I can’t pay the money at the time to buy more until next week so the podcast will be unavailable until then. This screws up “Interview Month” a bit and I’ll figure out something to make it up to the fans.

The podcast and the website are hosted separately so the website content is still here. Thanks for being there and I’m flattered we are this popular!
