Beatlestock features sing-a-long tribute to John Lennon Saturday in NYC

The Beatles tribute band Beatlestock will be doing a show Sunday at B.B. King’s in NY. What is interesting about this band is they don’t concentrate on costumes and the look, but the sound…and they do it with not four but SEVEN members! Wow.

More on ‘Nowhere Boy’: world premiere video footage; film songlist includes Lennon-McCartney song

Posted in Beatles Examiner on October 31, 2009 by ificandream

Despite earlier reports and speculation that we wouldn’t be getting any Lennon/McCartney songs in “Nowhere Boy”, it’s been reported that we may have one or two. Don’t get too excited hoping for “Eight Days a Week”, because you’ll be getting some early stuff instead like “In Spite of all the Danger” and “Hello Little Girl”.

Well this one is sure to get people talking. Sam Taylor-Wood, who is 42 years old, the director and “Nowhere Boy” (and recently divorced) has announced plans to get married again…to the 19 year old actor Aaron Johnson, who played the teenage Lennon. Well that is one way to get people talking about the movie.

Five Years

October 30th, 2004

FAU Owl Radio Studios, Saturday 4pm (I think it was 4PM)

An 18 year old boy, a mixer and crate of Beatles CD’s.

Holy cow. It’s been five years since I first stepped into the radio studio booth with a crate full of Beat;es CD’s and went on the air. It’s been an amazing ride. At age 18 time was different and five years seemed like an eternity. I never imagined I would still be doing the show now. The thought never crossed my mind.

This show takes lots of work and as I’ve grown up and gotten more responsibilities and obligations, it’s been harder to keep this show up. On more than once occasion I entertained the thought of just ending it and a year and a half ago I nearly did. I don’t regret keeping it up though. It’s worth all the work and trouble put into it. The fan reactions have been great and I’ve have the privilege of interviewing (and dare I say, become friends with) some important people in the Beatles world.

It’s all driven by a love for the Beatles, and sharing that love with the fans.

Love is all you need.
